He Is Not Here; He Is Risen!

Posted on 6 April 2019

At Newmount last Christmas we featured many angels. You may have seen the large wicker angels in the church window or received a knitted angel with our greetings. In the bible, angels do not just appear at Christmas, in fact when Mary went to the tomb in search of Jesus’ body early on the first Easter morning, it was an angel that said to her, ‘He is not here; He has risen!’ (Matthew 28 v 6).

This is why we display an empty cross outside our church at Easter and inside our church all year round, because it’s our belief that not only is Jesus risen from the dead, but He lives in our hearts today by faith. If you would like to know more about our risen Saviour, then you will be most welcome at the events listed below.
