A light to my path

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

I am terrible at finding my way! I easily get lost due to my bad sense of direction, and my family often tease me about this, joking that I can only give directions based on the nearest Costa Coffee, but I am glad that we have an all-knowing God who leads us and lights the way. The Bible is our map, showing us the best routes to take and obstacles to avoid. God’s truth provides the right path to follow, and God’s light provides the clear vision to follow it.

Sometimes we may clearly know what God has planned for us but often we just need to trust Him for the next step and ask Him to be with us and show us what to do. Never having faced a situation like Coronavirus before and now returning to school, work and church, I am sure I am not on my own in feeling unsure about how things will go. But I am grateful that as we take a step at a time into the new way of doing things that God promises to guide us and be with us.

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you.

Prayer

Father we thank you for your word and your guidance. Please illuminate our way through the coming days so that we may walk in your ways, trusting that you are watching over us.

Amen
