Be Kind
by Jane Smith 7 December 2021
1 Thessalonians 5:12-18
Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
During the pandemic there have been several slogans and logos which have been adopted and used very effectively. One of these is “Be Kind”, something which we are urged to do time and time again in the Bible. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone followed that 1 piece of advice! As Christians we have a special responsibility to ‘be kind’ as a way of showing God’s love for everyone. We have been forgiven of our own sins, the least we can do is be kind and forgiving to others. Even when things are so difficult and we don’t feel deserving, God still finds a way to show love and kindness. As we are made in His image, we have the ability and opportunities to to do the same for others.

Let us pray
Father God
You set us such a good example and we can rely on You to alawys show us love and kindness. Help us to find every opportunity, particularly at the present time, to show Your love and kindness to others even in very small ways. Amen

We found these socks, for our granddaughter, in a nearby supermarket and it is my fervent prayer that as we move forward through the current situation and into the new year that many, many people will adopt the idea to “STAY KIND”.
