Change

Read Isaiah 43 : 14 - 21
Acts 2 : 38 Peter said, “Change your life. Turn to God and be baptised, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven.” The Message
I think we can all agree on the fact that no two days are completely identical. No two days are alike.
Everything is constantly changing. We have only to look at the sky on a breezy day and see the quick change in the cloud formation. Or look at a film taken in time lapse photography to see the beauty of a blooming flower.
Change is inevitable.
When Alan and I have moved house on numerous occasions, it has necessitated joining a new church, getting to know new people, becoming familiar with new faces and names, new ideas and learning new ways that people interact together. These were some of the challenges in each new location.
As Jesus went about preaching and teaching, he called people to change their hearts, their old ways of living and thinking. He called them who heard His voice to live for God and for neighbour, and not to think so much about themselves.
I should imagine most of us have encountered change in our lives and will continue to do so, particularly following the pandemic. Whether change comes in our churches, families, work or relationships, we can know that Christ always walks with us through these changes. We are never abandoned; we are never alone.
As we know, since the pandemic more people have turned to God in prayer and it has been reported that the sale of bibles has increased tremendously. We may not desire to experience the pandemic, but the changes we encounter can deepen our spiritual lives as we rely more fully on Christ, as well as bringing others into His Kingdom.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we ask you to walk with us as our lives change, and help us to trust You daily as You guide our steps. In Jesus’ name we ask our prayer.
Amen
