Expecting the Best

Lamentations 3: 22-26
The Lord's unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.
The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope. The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in him, so it is best for us to wait in patience—to wait for him to save us.
What do you expect from the day ahead? I hope you are anticipating the wonderful things God will do, but that may not be how you are feeling today. It is natural sometimes to feel doubtful or anxious about what the day holds.
These few verses from Lamentations appear in the middle of a chapter full of fairly grim times as recounted by Jeremiah, but they remind us that each new day is a cause for celebration. After all, God blesses us every day of our lives. He gives us love and reassurance. He gives us comfort when we're hurting. More importantly he promises us the gift of eternal life. As you consider these blessings, open your heart and rejoice.
Daily life can be challenging, but armed with the promises of His word, we can always expect the best, not only for the day ahead but for all eternity.
