Sharing Our Faith Together

Let Everything that has Breath

by Sue Muessig 6 August 2023

If you read through the book of Psalms, the last five Psalms are filled with praise and each of them starts and ends with the words Praise the Lord. Through all the different experiences and emotions in the Psalms from loneliness, struggles, joy and peace, we are reminded to honestly come before God just as we are and we are encouraged to praise God everyday and in every situation.

Psalm 150

1 Praise the LORD.

Praise God in his sanctuary;

praise him in his mighty heavens.

2 Praise him for his acts of power;

praise him for his surpassing greatness.

3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,

praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,

praise him with the strings and pipe,

5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,

praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD.

I read:
“The opportunity to praise is given as much for our benefit as His. It gives us the opportunity to put our feelings into words, to express the sense of thankfulness and joy that bubbles up within us, and in so doing it reminds us of what God has done and who He is. It is a way of responding; of telling Him we haven’t just taken His goodness for granted but that it is special to us.”

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we have so much to be thankful for, please help us to honestly come before You each day and to always remember to give You praise. Amen.
