Limitless Love and Grace
by Peter Blount 20 October 2020
Just when we thought the restricting power of Covid19 was beginning to fade and a very limited measure of normality was returning, then, a second wave is looming large and we are once again, thrown into disarray, confusion and restrictions which seem unfair and perhaps unnecessary.
I hear the questions like ‘What next?’, ‘Why?’, ‘Haven’t we suffered enough?’
The basic church life, which we have become accustomed to over many years is under threat, not just from Covid19 but also from conference decisions; whilst our local church is pressured by restrictions, cash flow and the ministerial selection.
Where do we turn? Who can help?
In 2 Corinthians Ch12 Paul boasts of all the blessings he has received from God. Of how Jesus himself went up to heaven and prepared the way for Paul and all the subsequent believers to become children of God and inheritors of the promise of eternal life. But, in this same chapter Paul has a thorn in his side to keep him humble and understanding of God infinite Grace.
2 Cor 12:9 But He (God) said ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’.
I guess at times like this the old songs really are the best – have a listen and dwell on the words – let them touch your very soul.

Prayer
Lord today, as the Church Council meets, give blessing and wisdom, power and authority but above all, limitless Grace and Love.
AMEN
