Luke 11:1-4
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say this:

‘Father:
May your holy name be honoured;
may your Kingdom come.
Give us day by day the food we need.
Forgive us our sins,
for we forgive everyone who does us wrong.
And do not bring us to hard testing.’
And so we frequently share in this very special prayer that Jesus gave us.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

What line of the Lords prayer stands out to you?

Why?

The words that I always find uplifting are….

‘Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory’.

These remind me that all of creation belongs to Him. He is Lord of all. God’s power is so great it is beyond our comprehension, God’s power raised Jesus from the dead and gave me life, eternally, and all the glory belongs to him. So, He is worthy of all our praise now and for evermore.

Prayer
Lord of heaven and earth, as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer, give us patience and courage never to lose hope, but always to bring our prayers before you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
