Psalm 19:1-6
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat.

One of the things that I have been working on during lockdown is Holiday Club (for whichever year it will be used!). The book we are using has a science theme – looking at the wonder of God and His amazing creation.

It has been great to focus on how powerful God is. Through His creation, design and order we can also be reminded of the depth of God’s love and care for each one of us.

Colossians 1:15-17

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.

It is good to remember that God is in control and He holds everything in the heavens and on earth in His hands, including us.

We pray

Father God, we thank You for the wonder of the universe and the beauty and intricacy of Your creation. Help us to keep praising You for all that You have given us, and to trust that You know every detail of our lives and you are holding us all in Your hands.

Amen
