Sharing Our Faith Together

Pause for Praise

by Ruth Croft 17 February 2022

Psalm 106:1-2
Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;  his love endures for ever.
Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise?

Today's title comes from the heading of a short reflection I read in the midst of a busy week of church meetings, social activities and family commitments. To be honest it stopped me in my tracks!

As life begins to look and feel more like ‘normal’, I wonder how many of us have slipped back into pre-pandemic habits. It can be easy to find ourselves in such a rush to get things done, or cram so much in our diaries that we don't have time to stop and thank our Creator for the countless blessings he has gifted to us as often as we should.

Song: Give thanks to the lord our god and king his love endures forever

I would like to leave you with a few words of Matthew Henry, a 17th century minister and author of an extensive biblical commentary,
“Be not afraid of saying too much in the praises of God; all the danger is of saying too little.”

Amen
