Paul was in prison, but he was full of joy because he knew that no matter what happened, God was with him.
It is hard not to be worried or anxious during these times when we are not allowed to visit our family and friends and our normal routines have been stopped. Paul suggests that we turn our worries into prayers and then God’s peace will keep our thoughts and our hearts quiet and at rest as we trust in Him.
Jesus said “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
We can find peace as we spend time in God’s presence. As we focus on who He is, we are reminded that He knows all things and is still in control.
Father we bring our cares and concerns to you now…
As we leave them at the cross we pray that You would fill us with your peace. Help us to fix our hearts and minds upon you and to keep praising You.
Amen
