The Street

Good morning and welcome.

Today’s Bible Story – The Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 25-37)

And the Theme is – Love/Kindness
Today we have another parable that Jesus told - The Good Samaritan.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.” Luke 10:27

Jesus teaches us to love everyone, even those we don’t know very well and those who are different to us in some way.  The Jewish and the Samaritan people did not get along at all, and the Samaritan was the last person you would expect to help the injured man.  Helping and loving others isn’t always easy, but we can choose to show others the love that God has shown us.  Is there someone you know who might need some kind, loving help today?

 Explore – The street/neighbourhood
In this day and age it is more difficult to walk the streets without passing strangers who appear ‘strange’.  Maybe of a different culture, race or background but, according to scripture, they are all our neighbours. And they all are deserving of our greeting, our time and our knowledge of a saviour.

This short video may shock you but please watch and think because we can all say that wouldn’t happen at our church – but ……….
