Time

Many years ago, too many to remember, I failed my eleven plus exam and as a result went to our local secondary modern school.
I recall two teachers who made English come alive. The first, Mr. Robinson, made books come alive, you just wanted to turn the page over. The other, Mr. W B Shaw turned the books into drama. One year we read The Canterbury Tales. The whole class of 36 went to the art room, little did we know they were making a very large clock, and I mean VERY large. Chaucer wrote ‘Time and tide wait for no man’. At that age you don’t always understand what has been written. But even after numerous decades you hear people quote it. Even in this technology driven world man has not been able to change the inexorable passing of time.

Are we keeping quiet about what is happening in both Ukraine and the middle east. Perhaps the time has come for us to pray more fervently and communicate our thoughts with the political elite.
How about you spend some time each day for a week to pray for world peace. Miracles do happen.
