Isaiah 40:27-31
Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The Lord is the everlasting God. He created all the world. He never grows tired or weary. No one understands His thoughts. He strengthens those who are weak and tired. Even those who are young grow weak: young people can fall exhausted. But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles, the will run and not get weary: they will walk and not grow weak.

Prayer
Father God we know you are an almighty powerful God. There are times when we are weak in body, mind and spirit. We pray you fill us with your power and lift us up for the days in front of us. You gave your Son power that is certainly beyond our understanding however in his name we pray.
Amen
A few years ago we ran, with others, an afternoon group for teenagers at our home. it was called T Plus.
The youngsters brought along an item of food to share, prior to that there was a thinking time based on the bible. It sounds very heavy but it was far from that.
One Sunday before they left I asked them to bring a piece of fruit the following week. On arrival they proudly made it clear they had listened to the instruction, however you always get one clever person who wants to show they are mentally cleverer than you and proudly showed the group a rather large nut. Ann had the Kenwood and each piece of fruit made a cocktail. We pointed out it wasn’t a mix until power was supplied. It maybe an old story but it created a longer than normal discussion on the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’ and God’s Power. This may have been for young minds, but however old we are in body, refreshment needs sometimes to be exercised in spirit.
By the way, we had no nut crackers so I put the nut in the door jamb, the nut broke and the door fell off. A memorable afternoon!!
Our God does have the POWER to change lives.
This pandemic may give man the opportunity to change.
As we read in Galatians 5:22, the Spirit produces Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Humility and Self control. What a brave new world to look forward to. Isaiah pictures it beautifully ‘they rise on wings like eagles’.
