Would You Believe It!

Reading Psalm 91
Psalm 91:9 to 11
You have made the Lord your defender the Most High your Protector, and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home. God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you may go. They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
Today I met an angel, Oh yes! I hear you cry. It was a dim day and we arrived, parked in the disabled parking bay which in theory was not far from the entrance. However using the three wheel assisted walking buggy I have it seemed like miles! We were directed in and the lovely masked lady said, “Can I be of assistance by pushing you through the process? Your wife can bring your 3 wheeler.” I like to be independent but before I knew it we up and through each part of the procedure including being returned to the car. More importantly I didn’t feel the jab! The place was filled with angels who wanted to do all they could, in any way they could. Who says Angels don’t exist!
The world is packed with good people doing everything with the government directives of washing hands, ensuring they are wearing masks and keeping two metres apart. Who would think that this would discern the good from others! In the world that the Almighty created, you might say why didn’t he create us like this just in case. The word says in the psalms that he created us a little lower than the angels, so God has always known what we need.
True story…..
Many years ago a policeman friend was carrying out his duty, part of which was chasing after rogues that needed to be apprehended. He chased after through an opening in a fence not knowing he would soon find himself wrapped badly round a tree. The next thing he was in the hospital, unfortunately not knowing if he was in this world or the next. However, the outstanding thing he recalled was an angel at the bottom of his bed assuring him that all would be well. On telling this story he was definitely sure that this being was not a nurse but an angel of peace. Who says Angels don’t exist!
We find ourselves in the time of Lent where we focus on our thoughts of Jesus in the wilderness for 40 days and nights. In Mark's gospel we read in Chapter 1:12-13 about the positiveness of Angels.
“At once the Spirit made him go into the desert where he stayed for 40 days, being tempted by Satan. Wild animals were there also, but Angels came and helped him.”
Before we know it, we will be celebrating Easter and after the terrible time of Good Friday and Jesus being put in the tomb, we have the glory of the stone being rolled away, Christ is risen and Angels try to give peace to those who search for their Master in Matthew 28:1 to 10. Who says Angels don’t exist!
Be it the momentous times of life or the everyday workings that each of us go through, God’s presence should, and must, help us strengthen our faith in Him. Sometimes as we take one more step in this world, it could be that angels are all around us and we just don’t look enough and thank God for them.
