Sharing Our Faith Together

You are loved

by Sue Muessig 14 February 2022

For some people Valentine’s day is a special day they look forward to, for others it’s just a normal day, and for some it’s a very difficult one.  However you are feeling today, we want to remind you that YOU ARE LOVED.

The Bible tells us a lot about love and it says that “God is love”  (1 John 4:7-8). This means that He is the source of love and everything He does is influenced by love.  God created the world, created people, cares and forgives, all because He loves us. We often think of love as a feeling or an emotion but love can be a choice or an action.  The greatest way God showed His love for us was by sending His only Son to live as a baby here on earth.  Jesus grew up to help and heal people wherever He went and eventually to die on the cross, and rise again so that we could be forgiven for all the things we have done wrong.  The same God who worked the miracles we read in the Bible knows each of us by name and wants to help us.

The Bible says that we don’t have to earn God’s love, we don’t have wait until we are perfect, but we can turn to God at any time, just the way we are.

Jeremiah 31:3 says “I have loved you with a love that lasts forever.” The Message version expresses it as “I’ve never quit loving you and never will.  Expect love, love, and more love!”
