Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday which is the start of Lent. This was a time traditionally when Christians gave up fatty foods such as flour, milk and eggs. Pancakes are great way of using up these ingredients!
Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter, not incudling Sundays. Christians often spend time praying and reflecting. Many people give up something for lent like chocolate or watching too much TV! Some people use this time to do extra acts of kindness.
Just a few of the pancakes that were enjoyed this week!
