Newmount Methodist Church is a church community in the Blagreaves area of Derby. We are part of the Derby Circuit of the Methodist Church.
On Sundays we meet for Morning Worship at 10.30am and 6.30pm for Evening Worship. Our worship takes many styles and we believe we offer something for every one. Look and see if there is something here for YOU! We also hold a wide variety of other meetings each week which provide opportunities for all to find our more about what it means to follow Jesus.
Our Sunday morning services include a hymns and worship songs, readings from the Bible and teaching from a Methodist Minister or Local Preacher. Children and young people are invited to take part in their own groups moving to a separate area of the building for part of the service. Evening services are often a traditional form of worship. We celebrate Holy Communion in the evenings on the first Sunday evening and the second Sunday morning each month. In addition, we also celebrate Holy Communion at special services at Easter.
On the first Sunday morning of each month, Access All Areas is an informal event which runs with a yearly theme. These services are often led in-house and last between 45 mins and an hour, leaving plenty of time for refreshment and chat afterwards.
We also hold occasional worship events in a different style. Creative Prayze is reflective worship which sometimes includes story telling, images and music. Soul Cafe is cafe style and very informal with live music and insightful words. Sing Sankey! is fairly traditional and focussed on the music and words of Ira Sankey and D.L. Moody. Details of these services are published in Newmount News or can be found in our News section.
We also run a huge variety of weekly events for all. Please see the Events tabs to find out more about what happens on the other days from fun for toddlers and social groups to prayer ministry and bible study.
