Power and Strength

1 Chronicles 29:10-13
David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, O Lord,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendour,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honour come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.

Both David’s prayer and the words of the song we have just sung remind us just how powerful our God is.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us.
Are our imaginings big enough, powerful enough to do justice to God’s capabilities? Let us acknowledge our hunger for God, and seek the power of God’s Spirit released in our lives today, enabling us to serve Him effectively.

Father God
We worship and praise You for the greatness, power, splendour and glory are Yours alone. We pray that our faith and imaginings will allow Yo to build Your church here. Thank you for all You have done in our lives.
