What Can I Give To The King

Matthew 2: 10-11

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

What can I give to the King? 
Give to the One who has everything. 
What can I give? 
What gift can I bring? 
What can I give to the King?

As we are buying gifts for our friends and families as part of our celebration of the birth of Jesus, what can we give to the King?

What can I give?

God had given me so much. If I stop and think my answer today would be probably be very different from my answer from 5,10,15 years ago. In our journey of faith, as we learn more of God’s word, and deepen our relationship with him, our thoughts develop.

Would I take on a role to serve Him within the church?

Would I respond to a request to help with a group?

Would I serve in a role within the community?

Give Him a heart that opened up wide 
Give Him a life that’s got nothing to give 
Give Him a love that’s tender and true 
And He’ll give it all back to you 
Yes, he’ll give it all back to you

Have I given Him a heart that’s opened up wide?

Does He have every single part of my life or do I keep some of it back?

Give Him all glory, His people on earth 
Give Him all praises, this day of His birth 
Give Him all honour in that we do 
As he’s given His life for you 
As He’s given His life for you.

As we celebrate the gift of God’s Son, who came to earth for us, may we give Him our heart and every part of our lives as we praise and worship Him this Christmas time.
